I consider my work sad. The landscapes are solitary, and my characters are wandering, always waiting for something or someone. The couple representing love becomes a spectator, as if those who inhabit my work lack love, as if the landscape they are part of is all they have.

                                        - Gustavo Duque

Critically acclaimed, knighted artist Gustavo Duque has been a New Orleans resident for over 20 years.

Born in Colombia, Gustavo Duque's work can be found in collections of museums nationally and internationally.

His ethereal and sometimes surreal imagery express a deep sympathy for humanity. Gustavo is a man of great warmth and his work displays a deep love for nature's landscape. His signature figures stand as our stories.
